We were developing a Cross-Platform Mobile application based on Microsoft Technologies. More specifically, the technology used was:
- ASP. Net MVC for the backend API running on the Server
- Xamarin for the implementation of the Mobile App.
Primarily I worked on the backend implementation piece of the API and later moved to the implementation of the Xamarin App. There, I applied MVVM architecture. I was responsible for the implementation of the UI via XAML but I also worked on the functionality of the app and the communication with the API.
On the basis of my military service in the Navy, I served as an Engineer and was responsible for the Information and Communication Systems of the Naval Base of Samos.
There, in collaboration with the Superior Officer of Naval Operations and Security, I developed an updated automated system for interior communication based on the previous outdated system.
The targets of the new system were:
- Complete digitalization of the signals in order to,
- Cease the use of paper in order to minimize operational cost.
- Easy and immediate lookup of the pallet of signals.
- Easy redistribution of the signals to the vessels.
- Immediate recording and dispatching of outgoing signals.
- Automatic archiving of incoming data and repeal of outdated printed files.
- Creation of a safe local network in order to distribute, project and edit the signals solely through the computers of those in charge.
Microsoft technology was used for the implementation of the system.
- Windows Server.
- MSQL for the creation of a database where signals are stored.
- WPF for the creation of a Desktop app of automatic filing.
As members of Microsoft student partner, we organize workshops, events, presentations technological competitions (Hackathons) for the spread of the new technologies of Microsoft. The target is to disperse knowledge and information in order to intrigue the student body to get involved with the new technologies which they won’t have the opportunity to follow within the University and which may prove to be important for their professional development.
Such technologies are the following:
- .NET Framework - C#
- Windows programming (WPF)
- Windows Azure
- Web programming (ASP.NET, Html5,MVC)
- Mobile programming (Windows Phone, Xamarin)
- Game programming (Unity)
- Databases(Sql Server)
- Universal Windows Platform
- AI (Azure Machine Learning Studio)
As MSP Community Manager of Microsoft Student Partner of my University, I coordinate the team so that every single member is given the opportunity to benefit from personal growth within the community. The aim is the orderly function of the group and through conversation with the rest of the members, I select the topic and type of event that will follow while at the same time I delegate responsibility to the members based on their individual characteristics and skills. Finally, I am responsible for the functional requirements of the group as well as frequent communication with Microsoft.
As Digital Lead, I am responsible for the social media in all the Microsoft Student Partner in Greece. Some of my responsibilities includes the administration of Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter as well as the orderly function of the Universal Live Workshops which take place abroad through live streaming.
"Fossaegean" is the student community of ΕΕΛ/ΛΑΚ (Open Technologies Alliance).
As members of the Community we organise workshops and events to disseminate open code technology to the student body.
I had undertaken the task of creating and administrating the website of the IEEE Community (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), of the University. Furthermore I was a member of the society that organized events and educational trips relevant to the Science of Electrical Engineering.
2nd (second) place in the technology competition "Crowdhackathon #Agrifood" in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. Our application offered the opportunity of registration, retrieval and leasing of rural territory for a specific and limited period of time. In the course of the 72-hour Innovation Competition, my group and I were invited to create an application that would solve a problem of the agrarian sector.
2nd (second) place in the technology competition "Crowdhackathon #smartcity" in collaboration with ΚΕΔΕ (Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government). Our application supported socially vulnerable groups by creating a digital wallet based on Blockchain technology that facilitated potential donors-users to make use of the application to donate P2P directly to the impoverished. In the course of the 72-hour Innovation Competition my group and I were invited to create an application that would assist in solving a problem in the area of "Smart Cities".
4th (fourth) place in the technology competition "Crowdhackathon #fintech" in collaboration with The Bank of Greece. Our application provided a solution in dealing with the "Red Loans". During the 48-hour Innovation Competition my group and I were invited to create an application that can provide a solution in the area of Economy.
